A Wedding Venue Unlike Any Other By Taylor Checchia   When you envision your wedding day, what do you see? A dramatic ballroom with elegant chandeliers and fabric-draped ceilings? Or maybe something more natural with views of the outdoors and rustic décor? What kind of atmosphere do you want for your guests? …Fun and relaxed, or sophisticated and formal; maybe even a combination of both? Here at West Hills Country Club you have the ability to transform and personalize the Grand Outdoor Ballroom to create YOUR perfect wedding. With private access to our non-traditional tented ballroom, and the exclusivity of hosting only one wedding per day, your options are seemingly endless. Crazy Little Spring Called Love

By: Alli Winchell Spring is the season of warmth, renewal, and growth. The warmer temperatures and flower buds that appear overnight, bring new hope to our souls after what feels like a never ending winter. The Spring season itself, represents all the emotions of your wedding day at West Hills. The excitement and anticipation of FINALLY being able to go outdoors without a jacket will have your guests eager to spend as much time outside as possible. The butler passed champagne and signature cocktail will be thoroughly enjoyed while your guests take in the aroma of cherry blossoms and forsythia that fill the air. A short stroll brings them to your outdoor ceremony where they are surrounded by the greenery of the golf course and the newly budding trees. The cocktail hour [...]

Winter Wonderland at West Hills

There are very few times in life when you cross paths with a person or place you know is going to be a part of your future. Lenore and Robert first felt that with each other, and later with West Hills. “I just want to say how incredibly thankful Robert and I are for the experience we shared having our wedding at West Hills. You all went above and beyond, and I am blown away with how special our day was not only for us, but for our guests. Taylor, Thank you for not only being an amazing wedding planner and coordinator, but a friend and someone I will cherish getting to have experienced this milestone with. Getting to share the excitement and emotions of planning the wedding of our dreams with [...]

A Day Made Exclusively for You

It’s here. Wedding day. But how is it already here?! There’s still so much to do! It’s 9:30 in the morning and we need to be at the hair salon by 10:00am. But we NEED to stop for coffee and something to eat; that’s not even a question. We are already running late, and the make-up artist told us to be back at the hotel by noon. Three hours is enough time for 8 women to get their hair and make-up done… right?  I hope so, because the photographer is coming at 1:00 pm to start the “getting ready photos,” and pictures of me putting on my dress. Aunt Susan should be bringing my dress to the hotel at 1:30pm. I hope she is on time! We must then leave promptly at 2:30pm, [...]

Your Wedding is on What Day of the Week?!

By Taylor Checchia When you get a wedding invitation in the mail, you are almost always expecting for it to be taking place on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. But not anymore!! Say goodbye to traditional, and say hello to weekday weddings! Thursdays, are the new Friday! Hosting your wedding on a Thursday is past the point of, “becoming popular.” It is now a thing. It’s part of the norm!! Thursdays, and weekdays in general, are the new normal for many reasons. Here are just a few: Many venues offer midweek pricing, which is significantly less than weekend pricing. Nothing changes; you get everything you would normally get on a weekend, but sometimes for a quarter of the price…sometimes even more of a discount than that! Selecting a less expensive day of [...]

And that's exactly what is was. Stephany and Jessica had been planning their wedding for over a year, making sure everything was perfect down to the last detail. With many DIY pieces, they did an incredible job creating a natural, classic country feel. Is a First Look a Good Idea?

If you are planning a wedding, I am sure the thought of doing a first look has crossed your mind. The debate between seeing your partner before the ceremony or waiting until the ceremony to see one another can be taunting. Which is the right choice? Before I go any further, let me explain what a first look is. A first look is a new and modern trend where the couple has the opportunity to see one another before the wedding ceremony. One person is usually positioned looking away out over the golf course, by the willow trees , or someplace with a beautiful back drop. Then, their partner will meet them and they see each other for the first time on their wedding day. This very intimate and highly anticipated moment [...]

Jessica and Matt – June 4, 2016

Florist: Lucille's Floral of Fishkill Photographer: Erica Lee Photography “When two hearts are meant for each other no distance is so far, no time is so long, and no other love can break them apart.” I'll never forget the day when this beautiful couple walked into my office with their precious daughter Ava. From the moment I met them, I just knew that they belonged here. Their gracious, fun and gentle personalities beautifully matched their wedding colors and decor, and their pure love for one another was nothing short of magical. This truly is what it is all about. Hugs and Kisses, Mallory

Elizabeth & Matthew – June 3, 2016

Photographer: Erica Lee Photography Flowers: Meadowscent Florist Videographer: Pioneer Media Liz and Matthew's Wedding Preview at West Hills Country Club in Middletown, NY from Pioneer Media on Vimeo. I had met with Elizabeth and Matthew for the first time back in August of last year. When the couple came in with her parents, you could feel the excitement in the room. They were on the search for their dream wedding venue and after one more week of continuous searching, they let me know that they had finally found it. One thing that stood out to me during my time planning with them is how Elizabeth's sweet and warm personality balanced perfectly with Matthew's energetic and goofy side. They truly fit so well together. June 3rd finally approached and the wedding was nothing short of spectacular. The soft pink, white and blush colors [...]

Melissa and Josh – May 24, 2014

Venue: West Hills Country Club Photographer: Kevin Ferguson Photography “We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.” In honor of #tbt, I thought I throw it back to 2014, when my childhood neighbor married her best friend. Melissa and I grew up together. My family purchased our home only a few months before her parents did, and from what we are told, it didn't take very long for our families to become great friends. To this very day, our families are closer than ever, but we've grown from family friends, to just family. Melissa is a year older than me, so we really did go [...]
