West Hills Country Club has recently been featured in the The Met Golfer Magazine’s February/March issue (the article begins on page 76- if you have a chance, check it out!). This inspired me to write about the country club itself, which does not get as much attention on our blogs as it deserves!
The article talks about our history as the Orange County Golf Club which began in 1899. It touches on when and why the bridge was built on property (which many of our wedding couples have pictures of hanging in their houses… ) and other details about the past and present of the club.
The Bonura Hospitality Group bought the club in November of 2012 and the place was transformed into West Hills Country Club. And let me tell you… the renovations have been spectacular.
We are now a 27 hole course with a newly expanded member restaurant.
Members have access to our brand new pool with a pool bar and grill and 6 poolside cabanas. It’s like a small resort in Middletown, New York!
We have two tennis courts, a fitness center, and offer many different member events friends and family can partake in throughout the year. And of course we cannot forget about the waterfalls and the Outdoor Ballroom that was installed giving the club a wonderful aesthetic appeal as soon as you pull into the parking lot.
If you are not a golfer, don’t worry, we do not discriminate! We offer a membership geared specifically for you that allows you to take advantage of the amenities without having to swing a golf club.
For any membership inquiries give us a call at 845-341-1899 and ask for Jim Finnegan. If you are looking for a place to wow friends and family this summer, whether that be from enjoying membership benefits or by having the wedding of your dreams, look no further- you have found West Hills Country Club!
