Guest Information & Club Guest Policies at West Hills Country Club
Making the Most of Your Club Visit
Welcome to our Guest Information page at West Hills Country Club, your essential guide to visiting our private club in Middletown, NY. Whether you’re accompanying a member or planning a special visit, we’ve designed these guidelines and club guest policies to ensure you have a memorable experience.

Visiting The Club
At West Hills, guests are warmly welcomed when accompanied by a member. To maintain a smooth experience, please arrive no more than 30 minutes before your hosting member. Once the member departs, we kindly ask that guests also leave the premises.
Proper Attire & Conduct
Our club is a place of tradition. All members and their guests are expected to adhere to our dress code—collared shirts or mock turtlenecks, forward-worn hats, and Bermuda-length shorts are acceptable. Please note that jeans, cutoffs, and tank tops are not permitted. We also ask that guests observe proper conduct on the course and in the clubhouse, upholding the values of respect, courtesy, and decorum.
For a complete list of golf etiquette we recommend the PGA – Golf for Beginners: Etiquette, Rules and Glossary.
Golf Shoes
To preserve the integrity of our course, all golf shoes must be spikeless.
Pace of Play
Our pace of play is designed for a brisk, enjoyable round—please complete a fourball in no more than four hours.
Course Etiquette
Respect for our course is a shared responsibility. Players are kindly requested to rake sand bunkers, repair divots, and mend ball marks. Please dispose of all litter, cigarette/cigar butts, and any waste in the designated containers. Golf cart operators should hold a valid driver’s license, use the tunnel when crossing the road, stay at least 50 feet away from greens, and adhere to cart paths around tee areas. Carts must never enter wet, steep, restricted, or marked areas.
Proper Conduct
Golf is a sport founded on tradition, honor, and dignity. We uphold these values by not tolerating berating of employees or fellow golfers, club property damage, or abusive language.
Lightning Safety
In the interest of safety, we adhere to USGA and West Hills Country Club regulations. Our club is equipped with an automatic lightning detection system for the protection of our members. When the system signals a warning while you are on the course or range, it is imperative that you immediately cease play and return to the clubhouse. Non-compliance with this rule may result in club suspension.
We thank you for your cooperation in reading our club guest policies and look forward to providing you with a memorable experience at West Hills Country Club.
